Job Description
Duties


  • Operates large, complex riding lawn mower, and/or specially designed riding mowers to mow in areas requiring attention to space and environment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Performs tasks that require significant manual skill, very heavy physical effort, several steps, phases, and detailed procedures (e.g., preparing ground for sod, flowers and shrubs)
  • Equipment characteristics include single function performance and components that are independently controlled through various hydraulic and/or mechanical devises

  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Must have and retain a valid drivers license.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Required to follow safety procedures and use standard safety equipment such as gloves, ear protectors, and safety glasses and exercise proper handling of equipment to avoid serious injury in the work area.
  • Works indoors and outdoors. May be exposed to adverse weather conditions when working outdoors. Exposed to drafts, noise, dust, and dirt. Possibility of bruises, muscle strains, cuts and scrapes.
  • Appointment subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2.
  • Requires frequent lifting and moving of equipment weighing over 50 pounds.
  • This position requires a physical. Failure to satisfactory complete the physical and background checks may result in separation.
  • Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.

  • Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment.
  • Demonstrated work experience that includes the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the duties of this position as indicated above.
  • Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc.
