The construction group of AECOM is actively seeking an experienced Laborer for immediate employment in the Upstate New York area.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Relies on general understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to plan and accomplish moderate goals
• Activities may include setting up and operating equipment; inspecting equipment; inspection of engineering installations for compliance with specifications; maintaining project documentation; assisting with the building, repair, or maintenance of a structure or roadway
• Performs a variety of tasks in support of survey or construction activities
• Works under direct supervision
• Duties may differ depending on the specialty area

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Position requires using an AECOM provided vehicle and/or personal vehicle for AECOM company business.
• Frequent hand movements including power gripping/squeezing various hand tools and levers.
• Physically able with or without an accommodation to work in outdoor environments with uneven terrain, variable outdoor conditions including heat cold, moist, dry, dust, noise. Requires working in an environment of heavy, moving dangerous equipment and occasionally chemicals, radiation, vibration, and confined spaces.
• Must participate and adhere to various safety training.
• Must wear all associated personal protective equipment, such as gloves, safety glasses, shoes, hard hat, and hearing protection.
• Candidate must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Frequently lifting and occasionally carrying, shoveling, moving, or loading various objects such as tools, equipment, debris, boxes, and fabric rolls up to 45 lbs. with or without assistance. Occasionally working with arms above shoulder level, bending, stooping, and using portable ladders. Frequently standing and moving around project to perform various tasks such as assisting with building, repair or maintenance as needed.
• Must pass state and federal criminal history/security pre-employment background checks Must pass pre-employment drug screen
• High School diploma or GED equivalent

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• In site stabilization, MCP, dredging, construction oversight, PCB’s landfill capping, demolition
• 2 + years of experience

Additional Information:

• Sponsorship for US Employment Authorization is not available for this position.
• This position will require a Motor Vehicle Record Screening.
• Offered rate of compensation (NY only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The hourly rate range salary range for this position is $ 18.58 to $32.51 USD.
