Laborer Jobs

Superior Forge & Steel Corporation is currently hiring a Laborer for our operation in Pittsburgh, PA. The Material Handler is a member of our team responsible for providing general and/or material labor skills in support of production, maintenance, and administration needs. This is an entry level position with advancement opportunities. Shift is from 8am-4pm.

Key responsibilities:

• Learn the proper use of straps and cables
• Shovel turnings from machines and place in appropriate containers
• Load and unload trucks
• Fill out receiving reports and daily production sheets
• General housekeeping/janitorial duties
• Load and unload annealing furnace
• Assist with other duties as assigned
• Assist machine operators loading and unloading machine
• Check machine line-ups at the start of each shift and bring rolls to machines if needed
• Learn different roll conditions and proper flow throughout the shop

Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions:

• Exposed to seasonal temperature changes
• Manufacturing environment with heat, noise, dust, and vibration
• Must be capable of lifting up to 60 lbs

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in factory or foundry preferred
• Must be able to work shifts and overtime as needed
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Strong attention to detail required

Must be able to pass criminal background check, physical, and drug screen

Classification: Hourly
