About the role:
The Laboratory, Systems Engineer reporting to the Director, Application Administration, will provide administrative and technical support of computerized systems utilized in laboratory environments across AskBio sites. The ideal candidate will serve as the point of contact for lab systems and work collaborative between scientific groups, vendors and IT teams. This is an onsite role based at AskBio’s Headquarters in RTP, (Durham), NC.
Responsibilities

• Configure and support laboratory applications and lab systems including computer configurations, system upgrades, business process updates and setting up users, roles, and access levels.
• Coordinate with application and instrument vendors by supporting new system installation, troubleshooting, resolving incidents and maintaining and updating systems.
• Act as a technical contact for AskBio laboratory applications and instrument systems.
• Deploy new and upgraded hardware, peripherals and accessories including IT and vendor supplied PCs for instrument control and data acquisition or other instrument specific IO devices
• Analyze and troubleshoot laboratory application and instrument system incidents, resolve problems, and implement changes according to defined SOPs.

Required Education And Experience

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented setting
• An understanding of IT networking concepts, infrastructure components and best practices
• 1+ years relevant industry experience using, implementing or supporting laboratory applications and systems
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering or Life Science related field. Work experience, including applicable military service, may substitute for education.

Preferred Experience & Skills

• Attention to detail, highly organized and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, highly interactive environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to maintain formal recording keeping and interact effectively with internal/external stakeholders.
