Job Description

Job Summary:
  • Ensures that services are of the best quality, are cost-contained and are carried out in an expeditious manner.
  • Responsible for the direction and coordination of the personnel in the Clinical Laboratory.
  • Responsible for recognizing results or problems that require referral to the laboratory pathologist.
  • Maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in quality improvement activities.
  • Activities included are performance of chemical, microscopic and bacteriologic sets performed in the laboratory to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
  • Maintains effective physician and intra-departmental relations.
  • Formulates budget.
Skills/Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technologist.
  • Current Medical Technologist certification with ASCP, NCA, or AMT.
  • Managerial experience.
  • Current BLS certification.
