About Us

Mayo Clinic Bioservices is a nationally recognized state-of-the-art research organization supporting the collection, processing, and storage of all types of biologic samples in support of basic, population, and translational research as well as clinical trial activities. This is the central biobank for several national repositories including All of Us Research Program (AoURP), Post-Acute Sequelae of SARS CoV-2 infection (PASC) initiative, and Nutrition for Precision Health (NPH).

The Biorepository Core Laboratory (one component of Mayo Clinic BioServices) is enterprise wide, with activities spanning Mayo Clinic Rochester, Mayo Clinic Florida, and Mayo Clinic Arizona, thus providing a national presence. The laboratories support the pre-analytical sample processing needs of the research and clinical trial community by providing: 1) sample accessioning; 2) sample processing (blood, other biologic fluids, cultured cells and tissue); 3) nucleic acid extraction; 4) preparation and cryopreservation of mononuclear cells; 5) distribution of products (i.e., serum, plasma, DNA, RNA, cells, tissue); 6) short and long term storage of products (ambient, -20°C, -80°C, liquid nitrogen; and finally 7) kit production and distribution for biospecimen collection. The laboratories support several hundred Mayo Clinic Investigators, several research programs (Mayo Clinic Comprehensive Cancer Center, Center for Individualized Medicine, SPOREs, and Disease Groups) and a growing number of external clients, including several NIH funded programs, such as the All of Us Research Program, National Clinical Trial Network (NCTN) Alliance/NCORP, ACCRU, Post-Acute Sequelae of SARS CoV-2 infection (PASC) Initiative, and Nutrition for Precision Health (NPH).

Biorepository Core in Jacksonville, FL is a College of American Pathologists Biorepository accredited laboratory with a staff of over 20 FTE, occupying approximately 5,000 square feet of laboratory and storage space and 2 satellite laboratories. It is one of the main laboratories supporting clinical trials.

Mayo Clinic offers a highly competitive compensation package and exceptional benefits that enable staff to achieve work-life balance. Benefits include top-notch medical care, flexible scheduling, generous vacation time, and professional expense accounts.
