Job Description

Job Summary
Performs analyzes of various products, testing for various elements while following the best practices to uphold safety and quality standards.
Essential Functions
  • Cleans laboratory equipment and instruments
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Each employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to the Occupational Safety and Health Act which are applicable to his/her own actions and conduct.
  • Complies with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates (Safe Quality Foods, Food and Drug Admin, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance)
  • Analyzes products including testing proximate, sensory and physical analysis
  • Clear communication with co-workers in Lab and Production and to Team Leader
  • Take responsibility and hold self-accountable

Qualifications
  • Willingness to work 10 hour shifts
  • Must be able to work weekends, and overtime as required
  • Math skills including multiplication and division
  • Ability to read and interpret product specifications in English
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of science (biology and chemistry) such as may be acquired through high school courses or related experience
  • Capability to adjust measuring instruments and interpret results
  • Computer experience required
  • Ability to stand and walk the entire shift if needed
  • Ability to read and write instructions in English
  • Attention to detail
  • Knowledge of the proper use of all cleaning chemicals
  • Ability to operate (or learn to operate) necessary equipment
  • Accomplish assigned tasks with precision and accuracy
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent record required in safety, attendance, and punctuality
Certifications
  • Must complete one year of continuous service in the laboratory.
  • Must become certified in pH and foodscan task within probationary period.
