Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Labor and Delivery Nurse (LDRP) to join our healthcare team. The main responsibility of this position is to provide care and support to expectant mothers during their labor and delivery journey. As an LDRP Nurse, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and safety of both mother and baby. Your expertise and compassionate care will be crucial in making this joyous occasion a positive and memorable experience for the entire family.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide guidance and emotional support to the mother and her support system, ensuring a calm and positive environment
- Attend to newborns, including conducting initial assessments, monitoring vital signs, and providing necessary care
- Assist with the implementation of birthing plans and preferences
- Administer medications and pain relief techniques as necessary
- Assess the physical and emotional status of the mother throughout labor and delivery
- Monitor vital signs, contractions, and fetal heart rate to ensure the well-being of both mother and baby
- Educate and support new parents on newborn care, breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the overall well-being of mother and baby
- Keep accurate and detailed records of patient interactions, progress, and interventions
- Conduct regular assessments of the progress of labor and notify the attending physician or midwife of any concerns or complications
Qualifications and Skills:
- Dedicated to providing exceptional patient-centered care
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Minimum [X] years of experience as a Labor and Delivery Nurse
- Excellent knowledge of labor and delivery procedures, including fetal monitoring and birthing techniques
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Solid understanding of antepartum, postpartum, and neonatal care
- Certification in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred, Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of [State]
