Lab Technician I - No Experience Required

Brief Description

• We are hiring immediately and will train you! Vitalant is currently seeking entry-level Laboratory Technicians to perform a variety of lab functions, including component production, labeling, maintenance of records, and data entry.

Our ideal candidate is detail oriented, with strong communication, organization, and analytical skills, and is able to work flexible shifts in a team-oriented environment.
As a Laboratory Technician you will help prepare all blood components for delivery to our hospital and patient. You will perform a variety of tasks and processes related to blood component preparation, including centrifugation, separation, freezing, thawing, washing, storage, sterile docking, transformation, and filtration. Every day you’ll be having fun making a measurable difference in your community.

Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday 6am to 2:30pm

We’re looking for someone who can:

• Maintains accurate records and computer entry for component production.
• Performs labeling of routine and special components and quarantine of unacceptable components.
• Performs receipt of freshly drawn units and samples, and unpacks, evaluates, and routes samples for accessioning.
• Maintains equipment and work areas, as assigned.
• Assures product quality, volume, assay requirements, appearance, and time requirements.

Requirements
Qualifications:
High School graduate or GED
Basic PC/Windows proficiency
Able to lift up to 50lbs
