Job Description
The Laboratory Research Technician for the Department of Microbiology will primarily be responsible for (1) organizing and performing animal research studies (including mouse breeding, genotyping, immunizations, sample collection, etc.), (2) performing benchtop immunologic assays (including ELISA assays, western blots, flow cytometry, multiplex assays, tissue culture, qPCR), (3) fungal and bacterial culture, enumeration, and inoculation, and (4) ordering supplies and maintaining laboratory receipts and safety paperwork. This work will require teamwork and coordination with other lab members, accurate and timely records of experimental procedures and results, and maintenance of supply inventories for the laboratory. Required Education and/or Experience • Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree in a Biological Science
  • Research experience with protein purification and immunologic methods.
  • Experience specifically in HPLC, PCR, recombinant cloning, protein quantification, SDS-PAGE, and Western blot is beneficial.
