Job Description
LabCorp is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our team at Ascension St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. This role works in a high volume, production based environment performing a vital component of clinical lab science.


The schedule for this position will be: Monday-Friday 2:30pm-11:00pm, rotating weekends


Job Duties/Responsibilities


  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards
  • Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance
  • Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Receive and sort clinical lab specimens
  • Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested
  • Replenish test bench supplies as needed
  • Troubleshoot any specimen related issues
  • Prepare specimens for testing and analysis


Requirements


  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced production environment and meet established turn-around times
  • Ability to accurately identify specimens
  • Must pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Comfortability with handling biological specimens
  • High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Previous medical/lab or production experience is preferred
