The School Age Enrichment Programs seek dedicated professionals to be part of our collaborative and expanding community. Must be highly flexible, reliable, love students, believe in positive reinforcement, and have strong supervision skills.

ABOUT THE JOB


SUMMERTIME IS NEAR - and the SAE team is looking to add support staff ready to have fun with the kids!

Starting Pay $17.00 per hour! NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED! (Must be at least 16 years old)

Starting Pay $19.41 - $21.04 per hour for Program Leaders with experience! (Must be at least 18 years old)

  • Part-time position is located at: Kyffin Elementary (205 Flora Way, Golden, CO 80401)
  • Position requires subbing at other SAE locations within Jefferson County
  • Starting hourly wage is $17.00 minimum age of 16 ($18.39 with a Bachelor's Degree)
  • Hours are not guaranteed as childcare needs can change
  • Shifts vary but are generally 3 - 8 hours M-F anytime between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. depending on the field trips and on-site events scheduled each week
  • Summer positions run from approximately end of May - mid August (opportunities for continued employment during 2023-2024 School Year at many SAE sites throughout Jeffco!)

Opportunities for Program Leaders ($19.41 - $21.04 per hour) are also available for those 18 or older with 460+ documented hours working with groups of 4 or more children ages 5 - 12.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENT


The successful new hire or rehired candidate will be responsible to complete and incur the fingerprinting and processing fee of $54.50 through an appropriate fingerprinting vendor and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, within 48 hours of offer acceptance.

At the time of district fingerprinting appointment, new hire or rehired candidate must also complete a second set of SAE fingerprints ($54.50 fee).

Also must complete CDHS Background Check Request ($35.00 fee), any required out-of-state checks if needed, and necessary SAE paperwork by first day of employment.

RESPONSIBILITIES


SUMMARY Provide assistance to the Director in all aspects of managing the School Age Enrichment Programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned by the Site Director, SAE Coordinators and/or Administrator.
Assist Program Director in managing and maintaining daily operations of Before and After School Program. Including but not limited to: program set up, formal attendance and daily schedule.
Practices active supervision and whole area awareness to ensure safety of children.
Assist with planning, preparation and implementation of program activities. Engage students in enrichment activities, games, field trips, and homework.
Is knowledgeable of and maintains appropriate staff-to-child ratio.
Has current knowledge of and maintains all District, SAE, Colorado Department of Human Services and Health Department policies and procedures.
Maintain appropriate certificates and training (CPR/First Aid, Universal Precautions, 15 clock hours, etc.).
Responsible for following all SAE and licensing expectations.
Substituting at other SAE sites on a regular basis for short and long term assignments.
Establish and maintain open, collaborative and supportive relationships with all staff including elementary school staff, children, parents and SAE Central Office. Lead by example to foster team work and act with integrity to maintain a professional work environment.
Secure building, equipment, and program per District and department guidelines. Ensure areas and equipment used by program is cleaned and maintained.
Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE Working with school age children preferred but not required.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING: High school diploma or equivalent unless candidate is still attending high school.

QUALIFICATIONS Must be at least 16 years of age and demonstrate an ability to work with children. Program Aide always works under the direct supervision of Program Director or Program Leader. Must be flexible to accommodate short and long term subbing assignments at all SAE Sites as directed by Program Director/Leader.
