Summary: Our Kennel Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of our lodge and daycare, ensuring that boarding patients are cared for properly. This individual will lead the Kennel Team, providing training, guidance, development, performance improvement, and scheduling. This integral Team Member will lead by example and work alongside the team to ensure efficient operation of the boarding and grooming department. Promotion of a safe, clean, and interactive environment for the team and the pets in our care is of the utmost importance. Our Kennel Manager will report directly to the Hospital Manager.

Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with kennel maintenance and cleaning
- Oversees kennel operations that house dogs and/or cats
- Washing, drying, and folding laundry (if applicable)
- Other duties as assigned by Doctors and/or Hospital Manager
- Maintaining animal records, such as weight, physical condition, treatments received, medications given, and food intake
- Maintain clean and organized warehouse/storage (if applicable)
- Daily care for boarded animals
- Promote Retail sales
- Reporting changes in animal behavior, health or concerns to Doctors and Hospital Manager
- Must be able to lift 50lbs or more, stoop, bend and stand on feet for long periods.
- Training and supervising Kennel Attendants and Groomer(s)
- Scheduling boarding appointments
- Bathing, grooming, exercising, feeding, administering medication, and monitoring behavior
Skills / Qualifications:
- Communication skills
- Previous experience working with animals required
- Customer Service
- Organizational Skills
- Prior supervisory experience is ideal, preferably in an animal care setting
- People Oriented / Interpersonal Skills
- Team oriented
- High School Diploma or relevant education and work experience
