Junior Test Engineer Jobs

Responsibilities

Insight is seeking a self-motivated, test engineer with a strong desire and aptitude to learn and expand their testing and analytical skills and work collaboratively with a multi-disciplined team of IT professionals on a large application development contract USAID.

Candidates should be hands-on in all aspects of the software development lifecycle. Candidates must have the ability and interest to work on a range of different types of projects and business processes.

• Execute automated regression test scripts
• Effectively leverage SW application processes, workflow, data rules, and business rules to develop and conduct functional and system integration testing
• Support automation test engineers in the creation of automated regression test scripts
• Record and validate defects
• Work collaboratively with other test engineers and project management to identify process improvements and streamline operations
• Leverage Requirements MGT and Testing tools for example, “Team Foundation Server or Visual Studio Team Services, JIRA, HP Quality Center, Silk Central Test Manager and ServiceNow” to develop Test Plans and Test Scripts and to document test results and other SDLC artifacts
• Review and determine if test results (pass/fail) fulfill established requirements
• Use tools like SQL Developer or TOAD to run database queries
• Participate in the creation, implementation and continual improvement of standards, processes and procedures
• Coordinate with developers and communicate inconsistencies and/or failed tests

• Technically minded and able to easily navigate multi-platform environments
• Understanding of Agile SW development processes, tools, and methodologies
• Excellent analytical and assessment skills
• Troubleshooting/Problem solving skills with web applications
• Software testing experience
• Excellent communication skills and experience with customer support
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
