Junior Software Developer Jobs

BigBear.ai is seeking a Junior Software Developer to assist with developing business solutions in a development environment using the DevSecOps. This position will be based out of the Washington DC metro area with majority of work being performed hybrid. Minimum travel may be required onsite to support key program planning events.

This position will assist with the development and implementation of ML for computer-vision business solutions for our client. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a range of projects from the user interactions, automating business processes, to developing data analytics solutions that meet the customer needs. Working in conjunction with the Senior Software Engineer:

• Document and communicate proposed software solutions with integrated, cross-functional engineering teams in a fast paced highly technical environment
• Stay up-to-date on state-of-the-art programming techniques and software technologies
• Assist with the Design, development and maintenance of mission-critical Computer Vision software
• Work with System Engineering Team to schedule, synchronize and execute demonstration capabilities to customers
• Work with Government Program Management team and key stakeholders on any potential regression coding due to deployment delays
• Participate in sprint and increment testing to validate software
• Reviews existing programs and assists in making refinements, reducing operating time and improving current techniques
• Participate in software design and code reviews to ensure delivery of quality products and enhance skill sets
• Ability to assist with the creation of software solutions from established industry standards

• Proficient in at least one of the following languages: Python, Java, or Javascript
• Clearance: ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Clearance
• Experience developing software applications
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form with all levels including with senior leadership
• Ability to work independently and as part of an engineering team
• Familiarity with Docker Containers
• Ability to convey technical ideas in a clear, logical fashion
• Familiarity working with (EC2) AWS environments
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field and 2+ experience; Master's Degree or ; 8 to 10 years with no degree
• Ability to work on multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
• Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases

• Active TS/SCI
• DoD IAT Level II (i.e. Security+)
• Experience developing front-end user interfaces and API’s
• Experience translating functional requirements business processes and flows
• Experience in and familiarity with DevOps or DevSecOps as well as CI/CD pipelines and related toolsetsExperience working in an Agile team environment
