Junior React Developer Jobs

Poe Security is looking for a Chicago Based Junior Web Developer to join our growing team! This is a part-time entry-level position with the potential to transition to full-time as we receive additional grant funding. As part of this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the design, and initial build of our privacy focused workspace suite. You will be part of the first 10 team members, and receive generous employee equity as part of your compensation package.

Responsibilities

As part of this role, your responsibilities include:

• Configuration of third-party services (ex: Auth0/Formspree)
• Creating Serverless API Functions in AWS Lambda
• Regularly meeting with lead developer to plan out future sprints
• Developing Front-End API Calls using ExpressJS or Similar
• Developing Front-End UI Layouts using Web Flow
• Completing assigned development tasks

Qualifications

• AWS Lambda / Serverless Function Development (Not Required but Recommended)
• NodeJS (1+ Years)
• Ability to commute to our Chicago, IL Office 2 times per month
• HTML/CSS (2+ Years)
• Ability to Navigate Linux/UNIX-Like Servers or use YouTube Really Well
• Experience leveraging REST API Services (1+ Years)
• Decentralized S3 Object Storage (exposure)
• ReactJS Development Experience (1+ Years)
• Postfix/Dovecot Server Configuration & Management (exposure)

Poe Security is a small lgbt owned and operated startup based out of the Loop in Chicago, IL. We focus on development of privacy focused communications and collaboration tools that can be utilized by end users such as refugees, journalists, relief agencies, and non-profits at low costs from anywhere in the world. We are currently pre-seed, and working on our initial prototype that we hope to have into beta testing by years end.
