SUMMARY: Responsible for the successful planning, execution and delivery of assigned project by ensuring the identified requirements are met, delivered timely and within budget without compromising quality.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Manages project initiation activities that include identifying contractual obligations, customer needs and goals, existing situation, necessary stakeholders, and identifying information/documentation as needed. Develops and defines project scope, manages the execution of project plans and activities, schedules, budgets and deliverables. Identifies and mitigates project risks, collaborates with multiple parties to resolve issues/problems, and monitors activity progress to ensure project goals are achieved. Conducts project acceptance and closure activities to document project acceptance, documentation delivery, and complete a project review to identify areas of continuous improvement. Identifies project management process/procedure gaps or areas for improvement and provides recommendations to implement solutions. Collaborates across business units to onboard new vendors, and properly vet involved parties through risk and liability evaluations. Works with finance team to ensure all accounts payable and receivable are kept within aging guidelines, and action the team as needed to fix problems ahead of any milestones. References analytical methods to evaluate options and make recommendations for strategies of focus and soliciation/procurement of services and supplies. Collects, reviews and publishes project status reports for resources, schedule, stakeholder management, and features that influence project performance and completion.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field; or a combination of post high school and equal experience may be substituted for education.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of three (3) years of project management experience preferably in government logistics, contract management, sourcing/ procurement, supply chain management or customer service.
TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Intermediate proficiency in project management software such as Microsoft Project and Oracle.
COMPETENCIES: Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to assist and define program objectives, project requirements and coordinating implementation efforts. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to effectively manage multiple projects in various stages of completion that may vary in nature and scope. Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Ability to gather, interpret, report, and use data and other information concerning assigned activities. Ability to assess project risks and exposures; identify options and alternatives, make decisions and implement corrective actions. Ability to evaluate process effectiveness and develop change or alternatives. Knowledge of project management, planning and cost control management.
OTHER: Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification, or Oil and Gas industry experience a plus.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like. Extended use of computer keyboard and viewing of computer monitor and ability to sit for long periods of time.
