- Track and monitor key economic indicators such as inflation rates, employment data, and gross domestic product (GDP), helping to evaluate their impact on interest rate and overall market conditions.
- Track and monitor central bank communications, including monetary policy statements, press conferences and speeches, to help analyze and interpret the implications for central bank forward guidance.
- Track and highlight relevant industry news and developments, as well as changes in government policy and high frequency data that could impact the economy.
- Contribute to and assist in producing timely economic research in support of the Rates Strategist and ultimately the Investment Strategy Committee.
- Track and monitor street, market, and consensus forecasts on key economic indicators.
- Participate in multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Perform ad hoc analysis and special projects, as requested.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- 0-3 years professional (investment related) experience.
- Familiarity with macroeconomic concepts and theories.
- Proficient in data analysis and statistical tools, such as Excel, STATA, R, or similar software.
- Progress towards CFA designation a plus.
- Strong mathematical ability and statistical analysis skills.
- Familiarity working with econometric models a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering or another closely related fields.
