Job Description

JOB TITLE: Junior Copywriter
LOCATION: South Deerfield, MA


Description:
The Junior Copywriter will develop copy in support of Newell Brands Home Fragrance omni-channel strategic objectives. The Junior Copywriter will be responsible for a variety of copywriting needs, including Omni Marketing, DTC, and Retail. Duties will include writing and proofreading of daily promotional emails, subject lines, headlines, editorial text, SMS messages, SEO copy, retail events, retail signage.


Responsibilities:
  • Partner with Omni Marketing and DTC teams and follow creative briefs to align campaign objectives and goals
  • Write compelling, consumer-focused copy while adhering to brand TOV across all channels
  • Deliverables include: headlines, taglines, subject lines, promotional emails, web site content, product descriptions, SEO content, brand storytelling, brainstorming, concepting, retail store signs, promotional copy, web site content, and alt text.
  • Support the copy team as needed and serve as a back-up on copywriting jobs as proofreader and secondary writer or editor
  • Collaborate with the Copy Manager, Omni Marketing Team and DTC Designers, as well as other members of the Brand Management team

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Exposure to concepting and brainstorming for multi-media audiences
  • Experience in fragrance, food, or similar category a plus
  • Proficient in using a Mac, MS office, Google Docs, and Excel
  • Ability to interpret brand direction and apply TOV across multiple mediums
  • Candidates will be required to share an electronic portfolio of writing samples as part of the application process
  • Exceptional writing, grammar, editing and proofreading skills
  • 0-3 years copywriting experience in a marketing environment (advertising, marketing communications, digital-agency or in-house)
  • Adept at working both independently and collaboratively
  • BA in creative writing, journalism, English, advertising, or related field
  • Knowledge of best practices for digital content
  • Comfort in high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Possess a positive, collaborative, highly accountable demeanor
