Position Summary:
The Junior Accountant will support the Western Region Controller by maintaining accounts payables and receivables, managing contracts, updating financial reports, tracking inventories, and performing other accounting functions for multi-plant manufacturing facilities.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Fiber Responsibilities:
- Reconcile bi-monthly fiber inventory.
- Analysis of fiber activities as assigned.
- Process contract adjustments including rate changes, ticket errors, etc.
- Prepare monthly inventory valuations for particleboard (resin, wax, glue, catalyst, quantities, fiber, and finished goods).
- Send contractors detailed payable documents bi-monthly.
- Quarterly and yearly harvest tax reports and payments.
- Process all fiber payable and receivable transactions.
- Establish all contracts within fiber accounting system.
Reporting:
- Update environmental stats for multiple plants on a monthly basis.
- Preparation of Certified Fiber Reports.
- Provide Division Controller with requested fiber, payable and payroll data.
- Respond to requests from vendors, customers, the corporate accounting department, and others.
- Provide operations with daily fiber reports.
Accounts Payable Responsibilities:
- Process manual payable transactions.
- Process Maximo payable transactions.
- Process LumberTrack freight transactions.
- Review A/P invoices and post batches daily.
Other:
- Other duties as assigned.
- Reconcile lumber freight invoices.
- On-site attendance is essential to effectively perform the listed duties and responsibilities.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of personal integrity and ethical and professional standards.
- Ability to communicate with multiple levels of individuals, including management, staff, vendors, and customers.
- Proficient in MS Office 365.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Ability to self-direct and prioritize workflow.
Education and Experience:
- Associate degree in accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Relevant industry-related experience preferred.
- Minimum of ten years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
