Job Description

Position Summary:

The Junior Accountant will support the Western Region Controller by maintaining accounts payables and receivables, managing contracts, updating financial reports, tracking inventories, and performing other accounting functions for multi-plant manufacturing facilities.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Fiber Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile bi-monthly fiber inventory.
  • Analysis of fiber activities as assigned.
  • Process contract adjustments including rate changes, ticket errors, etc.
  • Prepare monthly inventory valuations for particleboard (resin, wax, glue, catalyst, quantities, fiber, and finished goods).
  • Send contractors detailed payable documents bi-monthly.
  • Quarterly and yearly harvest tax reports and payments.
  • Process all fiber payable and receivable transactions.
  • Establish all contracts within fiber accounting system.

Reporting:

  • Update environmental stats for multiple plants on a monthly basis.
  • Preparation of Certified Fiber Reports.
  • Provide Division Controller with requested fiber, payable and payroll data.
  • Respond to requests from vendors, customers, the corporate accounting department, and others.
  • Provide operations with daily fiber reports.

Accounts Payable Responsibilities:

  • Process manual payable transactions.
  • Process Maximo payable transactions.
  • Process LumberTrack freight transactions.
  • Review A/P invoices and post batches daily.

Other:

  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Reconcile lumber freight invoices.
  • On-site attendance is essential to effectively perform the listed duties and responsibilities.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of personal integrity and ethical and professional standards.
  • Ability to communicate with multiple levels of individuals, including management, staff, vendors, and customers.
  • Proficient in MS Office 365.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to self-direct and prioritize workflow.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate degree in accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Relevant industry-related experience preferred.
  • Minimum of ten years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
