Journeymen Meat Cutter ~ Full-Time And Part-Time Availability ~

Curtze Foodservice in Erie, PA, is seeking to hire a second-shift full-time or part-time OR first-shift part-time Experienced Journeymen Meat Cutter. At Curtze Foodservice we operate a meat plant known as Specialty Steak Services. Under the supervision of the Plant Manager at Specialty Steak Services, the Meat Cutter will efficiently cut and process all meat products to achieve a maximum yield according to company standards in our USDA Inspected Facility.

*** This position requires bending, stooping, twisting, reaching above, reaching across, using repetitive motion, heavy lifting, and the ability to stand for a minimum of 8 hours daily. The Meat Cutter will be exposed on a routine basis to adverse temperatures from cold 20-40° F, damp/wet, to freezing temperatures. In addition, this position requires the use of sharp cutting tools. ***

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspection checks of machinery, following all appropriate safety procedures
• Operate saws, knives, cuber, and additional equipment as needed
• Report all accidents involving employee or company property and equipment
• Perform other assigned duties as assigned by management
• Control the quality of products to conform to company standards
• Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety
• Conform to all relevant USDA standards as they apply to the position
• Maintain proper sanitary conditions, including cleaning and sanitizing all work surfaces, utensils, and equipment
• Process, cut, trim and label meat and meat products according to company standards

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience
• High School Diploma or GED
• Knowledge of various cuts of meat
• Ability to stand for more than 8 hours, withstand cold temperatures, and lift heavy

Wage: up to $23.00 based on skill level
