Job Description
Overview:
Sunday River Resort is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Hotel General Manager to lead the Team at the Jordan Hotel and ensure its continued success. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the hospitality industry, providing optimal guest satisfaction and a positive work environment for the hotel team, and excellent leadership skills. The Hotel General Manager is responsible for managing the hotel’s leadership team across all departments, including oversight of strategic planning, financial responsibilities, performance reviews, and safety policy adherence, all in support of the service culture. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Lodging at Sunday River.

Located in the Western Reserve area of Sunday River Resort, the Jordan Hotel is the resort’s premier address, boasting ski-in/out access in the winter months and a two-mile drive to the award-winning Sunday River Golf Club in the summer months. With 186 rooms, a spa, onsite retail, and ample food and beverage opportunities, as well as 12,000-square-feet of function space, the Jordan Hotel takes guest, group, and owner stays to new heights.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist Vice President of Lodging with ensuring compliance with State and Federal regulations including but not limited to, lodging licenses, OSHA, DHHS, Fire Marshall’s office, and standard operating procedures for the facility, service, and safety procedures.
  • Manage and motivate a team of department managers to achieve high standards of service and performance
  • Assist the Hotel Food and Beverage Manager with regard to guest satisfaction, team member issues, and problem resolution.
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive revenue and profitability
  • Oversee daily operations of the hotel and ensure guest satisfaction
  • Create a positive and engaging work environment for team members
  • Develops and executes annual CIP plans and operating budget for the HOA.
  • Work closely with the Jordan Homeowners Association and condominium owners and attend Board meetings of the association.
  • Participate in the selection, training, and development of hotel staff
  • Yearly goal setting with regard to Guest Satisfaction Survey and Corporate Brand Standards audit and continued improvement goals.
  • Address guest concerns and resolve any issues in a timely and professional manner
Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge of hotel operations, including guest services, housekeeping, maintenance, and food and beverage
  • Excellent leadership, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role within the hospitality industry
  • Passion for the hospitality industry and commitment to providing exceptional guest experiences
  • Self-starter with excellent attention to detail; organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays

Compensation
  • Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications, starting at $70k.
