Job Description

Jira Administrator

Location: Remote (Local to the Bay Area Preferred)


Description:

  • We are seeking an experienced Jira Administrator to join our team. As a Jira Administrator, you will be responsible for the configuration, administration, and maintenance of our Jira platform.
  • You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and efficient utilization of Jira, supporting our agile software development processes and enhancing team collaboration.

Responsibilities:


Jira Configuration and Customization:

  • Implement and manage Jira plugins and add-ons to extend the platform's functionality.
  • Configure Jira workflows, issue types, fields, screens, and schemes to meet the needs of various teams and projects.
  • Customize Jira dashboards, filters, and reports to provide meaningful insights and tracking for different stakeholders.

Help Desk Servicing and Ticketing Triage:

  • Manage and maintain all Jira related tickets and inquiries in the Jira specified Help Desk.
  • Work with teams in collaboration with their specific needs for Team Projects.

User Management and Support:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve user-reported issues related to Jira functionality, permissions, and configurations.
  • Create and manage user accounts, groups, and project roles within Jira.
  • Provide technical support and training to Jira users, assisting them with issue tracking, project management, and collaboration features.

System Administration and Maintenance:

  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure Jira's integration with other systems, such as Single Sign-On and other relevant tools.
  • Monitor system performance, diagnose and resolve performance issues, and optimize Jira's performance.
  • Perform routine Jira system administration tasks, including upgrades, patches, and backups.

Process Improvement and Best Practices:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and refine Jira workflows, ensuring they align with agile development methodologies and project requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices in Jira usage.
  • Stay updated with the latest Jira features, trends, and industry best practices, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure, including LDAP, Single Sign-On, and related technologies is a plus.
  • Odoo administration experience is desired but not necessary.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a Jira Administrator or similar role.
  • Jira Administrator certification is desired but not necessary.
  • Strong understanding of Jira administration and configuration, including workflows, issue types, fields, screens, permissions, and schemes.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve user-reported issues.
  • Solid understanding of agile development methodologies and their implementation in Jira.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in managing Jira plugins and add-ons, and ability to evaluate and recommend new tools for enhancing Jira's functionality.
