Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm

Job Summary: The IT Technical Specialist II performs a broad scope of professional IT activities requiring experienced, professional knowledge and application of IT principles, practices and procedures. Usually requires evaluation, originality or ingenuity.

Additional Department Summary: The Information Security Analyst Jr. participates in a comprehensive information security program to ensure appropriate security technology, tools, processes, procedures, reporting, and remediation are maintained to protect the University’s computing assets from unauthorized access, modification, destruction, or disclosure. Participates in regular monitoring and maintenance of security tools and systems under the guidance of a more senior team member. Triages alerts, tickets, and incidents. Resolves alerts from tools including, but not limited to, cloud applications, authentication systems, and endpoint security tools. Follows and documents procedures and playbooks to resolve incidents and alerts. Completes training annually to increase security knowledge and skills. Oversees SIEM management and maintenance. Manages EDR platforms. Manages multifactor authentication platforms. Oversees Endpoint security and security awareness.

Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree; OR Bachelor's degree and one (1) year of IT experience; OR Associate’s degree and three (3) years of IT experience; OR High School Diploma or GED and five (5) years of IT experience. Knowledge of intermediate programming, networking, system, multimedia or instructional technology skills. May require intermediate to advanced level training or certification. Must be willing to obtain and maintain security certifications upon employment. If candidate does not possess information security certification, candidate must obtain Security+ or GSEC within the first 6 months of employment.
