Job Description

IT Systems Administrator

Summary Description: The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the company s IT networks, computer hardware, and software programs.

Company Description: Impetus, a Palmisano Company, is a general contractor that provides construction services in various spaces, including commercial, civil, industrial, pre-fabrication, historic, healthcare, hospitality, design-build, self-perform, multi-family, urban mixed-use, and arts and culture.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assign and update security permissions on the company's IT network and various software programs.
  • Install network hardware and software.
  • Build relationships with vendors and create cost efficient contracts.
  • Assist with establishing departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
  • Ensure that email and data storage networks work properly.
  • Support and drive utilization of various company initiatives and technologies.
  • Manage the company s computer servers and its desktop and mobile equipment.
  • Ensure that employees workstations are working efficiently and stay connected to the network.
  • Determine the company s IT systems needs.
  • Maintain the company s IT network and computer system security.
  • Report progress on current technology initiatives.
  • Manage access control and security camera equipment.
  • Uphold brand standards.
  • Train users in the proper use of hardware and software.
  • Manage the company s telecommunication networks.
  • Interpret and solve problems when a user or an automated monitoring system alerts them that a problem exists.
  • Add and delete users to and from the company s IT network and various software programs.
  • Create cost efficiencies through process improvement.
  • Assess training needs and devise innovative solutions to maximize.
  • Supervise IT personnel.
  • Analyze systems and report on status, utilization, and needed improvements.
  • Collaborate with business units to enhance efficiencies within their areas through technical support and innovation.
  • Ensure that the company s IT systems are operating correctly and make upgrades and repairs as needed.
  • Participate in decisions about purchasing hardware and software to upgrade the company's network.
  • Continuously reinforce the company s Manifesto and Core Values, leading by example.
  • Evaluate and optimize the company s IT network and systems performance.
  • Provide technical support to computer users.
  • Organize, install, and support the company s IT systems, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), network segments, intranets, and other data communication systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or similar field of study, or technology related certifications.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and attain the best possible outcomes for an organization.
  • Exceptional relationship building, listening, and communication skills.
  • Experience with ConnectWise and Microsoft 365 Administration, including SharePoint and Teams.
  • 5+ years of experience managing the day-to-day operations of an organization IT networks, computer hardware, and software programs.
  • Experience with designing, establishing, and maintaining infrastructures for local and wide area connectivity and remote access.
