SUMMARY
The role of an IT Software Test Engineer I is to coordinate the process for analyzing / testing software applications. This process will involve creating and implementing testing methods, recording the test results, and providing recommendations to improve software applications based on results.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: other duties may be assigned.
  • Ensures software applications or systems software meets technical and functional requirements.
  • Make recommends quality improvements.
  • Works with development to resolve software defects and diagnose/improve product configuration for current and future modules.
  • Participate in design review, requirements gathering meetings.
  • Develops and executes test plans and scripts designed to detect problems in software applications and systems software.
  • Performs workflow analysis.
  • Responsible for testing the functionality and performance of software applications or systems software.
  • Thoroughly documents all test results – anomalies and issues.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred and one to three years’ experience as a quality assurance associate, application administration experience, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Key competencies include attention to detail, communication skills – verbal and written, time management, problem analysis and problem solving, planning and organizing, decision making, customer services oriented, willingness to learn new processes and software solutions, and a team player.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Strong conflict resolution skills and the ability to remain objective and professional at all times. Must be a self-starter. Ability to work independently or with a team. Ability to properly prioritize workload as well as the workload of subordinates and remain adaptable under pressure. Must have strong organizational and analytical skills. Must possess a solid balance of technical and business knowledge. Must possess skill mastery and aptitude to easily take on new applications. Must have the ability to provide oversight and guidance to other developers regarding the Salesforce application(s).
Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism. The ability to work collaboratively on development projects. Strong communication skills; both verbal and written. Maintain a high level of commitment to the team and the company. A strong desire to learn in order to enhance professional capacity and increase the contribution defined by goals and objectives. The flexibility to adapt to variations in end-user understanding of requirements and associated changes in software design and development. Professionalism in accepting tasks, self-identifying when assistance is needed, and transparency within all workflow processes. Willingness to adapt to the work requirements necessary to complete tasks on schedule. Able to commit to support schedules for applications that must operate 24/7. The ability to multi-task is important, with a capacity for thinking at both a high level and low-level concerning development projects and tasks.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
We offer a competitive total compensation package including base salary and benefits. The anticipated pay range for this position is $63,768 to $105,217 per year (in CO & WA), and depends on a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills and experience, education, and geographic location. Benefits available for this position include, but are not limited to, medical, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability benefits and life insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings account, employee assistance program, 401(k), Paid Time Off (new hires accrue at .069 per hours worked which equates to approximately 18 days per year inclusive of paid sick time) and up to 11 paid Federal holidays.
