IT Project Manager: Full Time, Dover DE


Position Summary

The Information Technology Project Manager will be responsible for administrative, clinical and operational IS projects within Bayhealth. The Project Manager will develop, manage and execute IS project plans (objectives, goals, scope, schedules resources costs, and dependencies) that are integrated and synchronized with other areas of the business. This position will manage multiple projects to ensure that they are managed in a manner that is cost efficient and meets all regulatory agency requirements. This position reports to the IT PMO Manager.


Essential Functions & Accountabilities

1. Responsible for developing quantitative measures to monitor the status of the project throughout the project life cycle and make recommendations based upon findings.
2. Works with multiple business and legal stakeholders to assess the legal, corporate compliance, and security aspects of any project have been reviewed and approved prior to project initiation.
3. Completes all required documentation in accordance with PMO standards to maintain accurate records of project activities.
4. Communicates directly with project sponsor, key stakeholders, analysts, and internal/external customers impacted by the project.
5. Facilitates project meetings, sets and manages project team member’s expectations, reviews project deliverables for accuracy, apprises management of issues impacting project status, and offers solutions to mitigate issues.
6. Supports standards, processes, and procedures necessary to produce the deliverables from the project team.
7. Understands the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, security, and legal and regulatory compliance.
8. All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.


Position Requirements

Experience:Position requires a minimum of 3 years experience in all areas of project management including multiple project integration, scope, time, cost, quality, staffing, communications, risk, and procurement. Project Management experience must include responsibility setting strategic direction for projects and developing project plans that identify key issues, potential problems, approaches, performance metrics and resources. While at least 3 years experience is required, 5 or more years experience managing multiple projects in a Healthcare IS environment is strongly preferred.

Education:College degree required.

Certification:PMP, Project Management Professional, credential is strongly preferred.

Computer / Software Knowledge:Position requires proficiency in full Microsoft Office Suite including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Project, as well as operational knowledge of a variety of IT characteristics, computer platforms and operating systems. The ability to utilize a ticketing system for the capture of incidents, problems, and establishing benchmarks is required.

Additional:Position requires advanced skills, knowledge and abilities in the following areas: Excellent written and oral communication, group facilitation & presentation, and consensus building & negotiation skills. Strong conflict resolution, delegation and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to build effective working relationships with employees at all levels and across all Bayhealth departments. Proven ability to: manage budgets; track and coordinate department vendors, contracts and business partners; to lead and influence cross-functional work groups; to manage teams and achieve results; and to motivate team members while displaying patience and resiliency.
