Job Description
Opportunity

IRAP seeks to hire an IT Project Manager to provide tech project management for several software systems. Two specific projects that the hire will have during their first months at IRAP are: the system administration for IRAP’s donor/accounting databases and owning the migration of at least one cloud-based database to another. This hire will also build or manage tech solutions with existing/new systems and assist in IRAP’s future technology decisions.

The IT Project Manager will closely collaborate with Tech Team members around the world, and will report to the Director of Analytics, Technology, & Automation. This role will regularly work with the Development department and will collaborate with other departments to facilitate technological solutions as needs arise, particularly in the context of financial and donor data processing.

Responsibilities

  • Project manage enterprise applications and data/tech projects at IRAP as needed. This may involve a combination of personally completing project tasks and supervising/coordinating work done by others. Such projects could include:
1. Owning migrations of data & operations from one cloud service to another (including diagramming the plan with the subject matter experts), and
2. Owning the integration/maintenance of multiple systems
  • Manage our donor database, including:
1. Own routine maintenance (like data cleanup, import/exports, duplicate management), and
2. Manage connections to third-party systems and reconciliation.
  • Closely collaborate with other members of the Tech Team located in the U.S., Europe, and the Middle East.
  • Manage existing vendor relationships and, when needed, research new vendor options.
  • Willing to do small, occasional ad hoc tech requests as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Able to read and write code is a plus (language agnostic). We don’t write code frequently and we don’t use a single programming language, but sometimes we need to: transform data, integrate systems with custom code, or diagnose a bug.
  • Ability to use data cleaning and analysis tools (e.g., semi-advanced Excel, Tableau, or Power BI) is a plus.
  • Ability to apply technical expertise to manage a database creatively (preferably a donor/fundraising CRM) and to collaborate effectively with non-expert end users to develop innovative systems and solutions for fundraising purposes.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage a broad workload and respond to urgent situations on occasion.
  • Commitment to IRAP’s Mission and Vision.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Ability to engage with diverse stakeholder groups (technical and non-technical) and geographically dispersed teams.
  • Customer service orientation that allows you to help IRAP staff get the most out of their software, whether they are novices or experts and to best allocate your workload.
  • Previous non-profit engagements are a plus.
  • Strong project management skills to manage enterprise level tech projects from start to finish (minimum of two years of experience), whether with internal teams or external partners. Relevant project/product management certifications like PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or Scrum are a plus.
  • Administrative experience with a variety of cloud applications is a plus (especially Salesforce, Blackbaud, Quickbooks, Google Workspace, and Microsoft 365 & Azure).
  • Excellent skills in oral and written English is a must.
Location: The role will be based in the United States. The person filling this role can either work remotely within the U.S. or based out of IRAP’s New York City or Washington D.C. office. There is some flexibility with the working hours; the role will need to be able to work during the hours of 9am - noon Eastern time. The person filling this role must be willing to travel to IRAP offices 2-3 times per year (IRAP pays for the travel, lodging, per diem).

Compensation

The annual full-time equivalent salary range for this position is $80,474 - $105,235 commensurate with experience. May be subject to a collective bargaining agreement.

Benefits

IRAP seeks to offer equitable and generous benefits to all employees. IRAP’s U.S. benefits include:
  • Fully paid family health insurance (100% of premium covered)
  • Disability insurance and 4 months of fully paid parental leave
  • Comprehensive leave time for sickness (12 sick days)
  • Generous opportunities for professional development
  • Retirement options (401k with 4% safe harbor match)
  • Reimbursement for work from home equipment - full work from home setup
  • Extensive PTO (20 or more vacation days & 19 organization-wide holidays)
