Job Description
Position Overview
As a member of the IT Operations team, the System Administrator will support Exact Sciences on-prem and cloud-based server infrastructure. This position will use a systematic approach to work and collaborate with key IT stakeholders, as well as Infrastructure & Operations team members, to facilitate ongoing maintenance and support activities within the environment. Key areas of responsibility for the IT Operations team and its System Administrators include Active Directory, email, server patching, monitoring, backup and recovery.
This position requires the employee to maintain building access as defined by the company, however, day-to-day activities can be carried out remotely.
Essential Duties

  • Perform racking, cabling, and configuring of IT Infrastructure hardware.

  • Ability to communicate information clearly and concisely with project leadership, subject matter experts, and key stakeholders.
  • Respond to critical infrastructure incidents and service disruptions that may occur during normal business day or off hours.
  • Create and document change control records.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work with end-users to troubleshoot technical problems and to fulfill access and other requests.
  • Ability and willingness to take ownership of work activities and ensure that they are done in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner.
  • Apply critical thinking skills to investigate problems and incidents as they arise.
  • Apply excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to operate in a cross-functional and complex matrix environment.
  • Ability to work nights and/or weekends, as needed.
  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
  • Perform and maintain server and hardware inventory.
  • Administer and maintain applications owned by the IT Operations team.

  • Ability to work designated schedule.

  • Patch operating systems and supporting applications to maintain vulnerability management compliance.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds for approximately 5% of a typical working day.

  • Maintain process and troubleshooting documentation.
  • Maintain server infrastructure health and security.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Adaptable, open to change, and able to work in ambiguous situations and respond to new information or unexpected circumstances.
  • Remain flexible with respect to changing end-user business needs.
  • Ability to grasp with both hands; pinch with thumb and forefinger; turn with hand/arm; reach above shoulder height.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience working in a professional IT support capacity through the support of end users and hardware or IT infrastructure systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Sciences, Information Systems, or related field as outlined in the essential duties; or High School Diploma/General Education Degree and 4 years of relevant experience working in an IT Infrastructure support capacity in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 2+ years of experience supporting Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, Windows, and Linux Systems.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience working in an IT Support function, either with infrastructure and applications, or direct end-user support.
  • Experience using ServiceNow for IT Service Management.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate, Amazon Web Services Fundamentals, and/or Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician/Cisco Certified Network Associate certification.

Salary Range:
$75,000.00 - $120,000.00
The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - CA - Redwood City on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to receive company stock upon hire as well as annually. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan, paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms, conditions, and eligibility requirements of the applicable plans.
