Job Description
Summary


Responsible for supporting and maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure and systems. Responsible for all Active Directory (AD) administration. Responsible for managing and maintaining Office 365 environment for the organization. Responsible for handling front-line Helpdesk support and resolution. Provides technical support and training to end-users both onsite and remotely as necessary. Monitors file servers and backup systems. Keeps web server systems up to date and functioning.


Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Implement and enforce O365 security measures, including data loss prevention, multi-factor authentication, and encryption.
  • Monitor all backup systems daily, for errors or issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server operating systems on physical and virtual machines.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in IT systems, hardware, and software.
  • Implement and enforce IT policies, procedures, best practices to ensure compliance and data protection.
  • Understand, and manage pfSense/OPNSense firewall security, rules, NAT config, VPN setup, etc.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Active Directory services, including user authentication, replication, and group policies.
  • Conduct regular system audits to ensure compliance with security standards and identify potential vulnerabilities.
  • Manage and administer user accounts, groups, and OUs in Active Directory.
  • Manage O365 user accounts, permissions, licenses, and access controls in accordance with company policies.
  • Monitor performance of NAS systems. Maintain full functionality.
  • Plan and execute Active Directory backups, disaster recovery, and restoration procedures.
  • Stay up to date with the latest Office 365 updates, features, and best practices.
  • Implement and enforce security measures, including authentication protocols, password policies, and access controls.
  • Manage Shoretel/Mitel VOIP phone systems, including schedules, user maintenance, workgroup configurations, etc.
  • Administer and manage Office 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and other related applications.
  • Provide front line Help Desk monitoring and ticket triage. Follow up with creator to review any specific details required for a timely and effective solution.
  • Collaborate with IT team and end-users to troubleshoot and resolve Office 365-related issues.
  • Monitor and optimize Active Directory performance, availability, and replication.
  • Maintain Web Server systems and configuration. Keep OS and Web stack components and technologies up to date and functioning.
  • Design, deploy, and maintain Active Directory infrastructure, including domain controllers, forests, and trusts.
  • Monitoring Windows server performance, identifying bottlenecks, and optimizing server resources such as CPU, memory, disk, and network. Troubleshooting and resolving performance issues.
  • Plan and perform routine Windows server maintenance activities such as the implementation of updates, service packs, and hotfixes. Upgrading server hardware and software as required.
  • Collaborate with other teams to identify and implement technology solutions that align with business objectives.
  • Handle first-day setup, and initial IT training for new employees.
  • Provide phone training and support for users.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.


Qualifications


Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology, and one to two years of experience; or three to four years direct experience and/or training in related position.


Proven work experience as an IT Administrator or similar role. Experience managing Active Directory, Group Policy, and Exchange Server. In-depth knowledge of Office 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive. Base understanding of Azure Active Directory. Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for Office 365 administration and automation. Understanding of general firewall configuration. Experience installing and configuring Linux based web and email servers.


Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator a plus.
