Irrigation Technician Jobs

Under general supervision installs, maintains, and programs automatic irrigation systems within parks, landscapes, athletic fields, and other municipal properties. Performs in a professional environment where customer service is paramount. Reports to the Tree, Right of Way, and Utility Area Crew Leader.

Requires a high school or GED equivalent (Associates Degree preferred) and three to five years of progressively responsible experience in golf course or landscape irrigation maintenance or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities. Prior experience designing, installing and maintaining landscape irrigation systems on public, industrial, or commercial property is preferred. Must possess a valid SC Driver's License. SC Pesticide Applicator's license with Turf and Ornamental designation is preferred.

Must be physically able to operate a variety of equipment including tractors, mowers, landscaping equipment, etc. Must be able to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 75 pounds of force frequently, and/or 25 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must be able to climb, reach, crawl, bend, stoop, etc. in the performance of job duties. Physical demand requirements are those for Medium Work to Heavy Work.
