About PSRS/PEERS

PSRS/PEERS is the largest defined benefit pension plan in Missouri. Our investment program fuels the majority of the funds needed to provide pension benefits for more than 298,000 Missouri public school personnel and their families. The market value of invested assets for PSRS/PEERS is approximately $55 billion as of June 30, 2023.

Most of our 170 employees work out of our headquarters in a recently remodeled/expanded building located at 3210 West Truman Boulevard in Jefferson City. We also have a satellite office in St. Louis, Missouri where this position will work out of. We provide state-of-the-art technology and security.

About The Job

As an Investment Analyst, you will play an important role in our direct private credit program, the private equity co-investment program, and within the overall private markets portfolio. Reporting to a Portfolio Manager - Private Markets, you will monitor existing private credit direct investments and private equity co-investments. You will also conduct due diligence on prospective private credit and private equity co-investments/direct investments, including research and analysis, making recommendations, interacting with external private markets firm, and preparing and presenting material for the internal Investment Committee. The position will help build and utilize sophisticated internal systems to track and monitor investments and assess risk on an on-going basis. Additionally, the position will assist with 1) identifying and tracking potential new co-investment and direct credit investment opportunities, 2) portfolio and asset reporting utilizing internal and external information and systems, 3) performing investment research projects, and 4) investment operations, document oversight and back-office functions.

Our Investment Analyst works with external consultants and participates in due-diligence meetings via telephone, videoconference and/or in person, some off-site. You will also facilitate the processing of legal documents needed to evaluate prospective investments.

Some overnight travel is required.

Job Requirements

Candidates should have a bachelor's or master's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, economics, mathematics or a related field. Active participation in the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) course of study is required before or after joining the organization.
