Investigations - Field Estimator


Reports to: VP of Operations

Location: On the road, but must be located in CO


Position Summary:

This position entails performing thorough on-site investigations as well as creating estimate packages for properties that have been impacted by various perils.

This position will communicate and collaborate with various stakeholders, including public adjusters, contractors, and property managers. They will also provide process improvement feedback to enhance the efficiency of the company’s operations.

This position requires excellent communication skills, including the ability to maintain accurate notes and update all necessary fields within the CRM system. In addition, this role involves assigning claims to the appropriate parties, monitoring files for incoming estimates and bids, conducting comprehensive estimate reviews, and maintaining vendor communications.

This position will be required to have (or obtain within the first 30 days of employment) Level III Xactimate certification and be able to write estimates for various perils. They should be a self-starter who can work collaboratively with other team members, and they should be willing to pursue additional certifications and training as needed.

It is an expectation that the person filling this role is willing and able to travel full-time if needed.

On-Site Investigation:

  • Accurately complete all required scope sheets.
  • Thoroughly document the assigned loss.
  • Complete pre-inspection file review and coordinate site inspections.
  • Obtain necessary photos and videos in order to substantiate the loss.
  • Follow on-site process and procedure guidelines.

Estimate Generation:

  • Order roof reports and be able to adjust the sketch accordingly if needed.
  • Write estimates for various building types.
  • Identify and apply applicable building codes and manufacture specifications.
  • Produce estimate package utilizing Xactimate.
  • Write estimates involving the following perils: fire, water, hail, wind, mold, etc.
  • Follow estimate process and procedure guidelines.

Cross-Team Communication:

  • Communicate and collaborate with desk adjuster.
  • Assist public adjusters with estimate objections.
  • Provide necessary information to interested parties (i.e. contractors, property managers, etc.)
  • Provide process improvement feedback.

CRM Management:

  • Record all claim related correspondence within the CRM.
  • Follow CRM process and procedure guidelines.
  • Properly upload all estimate related documentation.
  • Updating all required fields within the CRM.
  • Maintain proper notes within the CRM.

Operations Administration:

  • Maintain vendor communications.
  • Comprehensive estimate review.
  • Monitor files for incoming estimates and bids.
  • Assist in assigning claims to the appropriate parties.

Position Skills:

  • Self-starter who can work collaboratively with other team members.
  • Able to thoroughly document and write estimates for large losses.
  • Maintain Xactimate Level III certification.
  • Willing to pursue additional certifications and training as needed.
  • Frequent travel to multiple states is a requirement.

Commissions:

  • 2% of settled claim fee amount for completed estimates.
  • 2% of settled claim fee amount for completed on-site investigations.

Lead Commissions:

  • 2% of fee for each CO claim lead that you bring in.
  • These leads must be pre-qualified and ready for contract. Contract must be signed and the claim settled to receive commission. This commission is in addition to any estimating commission.

Benefits:

  • $500 monthly healthcare stipend
  • 401k matching up to 4% of contributions.
  • Optional enrollment in 401k after 1 year of employment.
