Description

Support the West Allis Department of Public Works as Inventory Services Specialist. Put your procurement, organizational, and technical skills to work to make sure our Public Works equipment inventory is accurate and appropriately stocked. Your time will be spent doing a variety of activities including researching and purchasing stock and non-stock parts, pulling stock as needed, maintaining an accurate computerized inventory, receiving shipments, ensuring the accuracy of deliveries, and more.
For this full-time position, we’re looking for a person that is reliable, responsive to the community’s needs, dedicated to improving efficiency, as well as communicative and technical. This is a physical position that requires the employee to frequently carry, lift, lower, push, and pull objects over 50 pounds.


Examples of Duties

Research, locate, procure/ purchase non-stock parts (considering cost, lead time, emergency value)
Research, locate, and procure/ purchase items for stock requirement and repair parts of equipment
Use computerized software to record, track, and maintain all inventory related data, including generating and receiving purchase orders
Process receipts/invoices - determine order, purchase order, procurement card or requisition for payment
Pull stock to fulfill requests of DPW employees (all divisions) and/ or deliver as necessary
Unload and receive incoming materials and compare information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment


Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent AND 1 year warehouse experience, OR
Associate's degree in related field and no experience required.
Driver's License with ability to obtain CDL Class B, C with airbrakes within 12 months
