Title: Internal Communication Manager

Location: Dayton, OH, or remote

Classification: Salary, Exempt

Hours per Week: 40

Travel: Less than 10%

Security Requirement: Must be able to provide favorable background investigation.

Position Expectations:

  • Perform all required responsibilities and duties in accordance with our code of conduct
  • Actively engage in your role, make informed decisions, and be accountable for all outcomes
  • Deliver exceptional service

Duties:

Manage the creation, editing, and dissemination of internal communications to JJR employees

  • Develop content and visuals for internal email communications, JJR Connect (intranet site), and internal education resources
  • Interact with JJR subject matter experts to understand the message they need to communicate to employees and then translate it into understandable, concise, purposeful, and persuasive visuals and content consistent with JJR style
  • Seek to continually improve JJR internal communication efforts by researching and proposing effective ideas, processes, and approaches
  • Manage JJR’s internal communication schedules and trackers to promote organized and timely communications
  • Evaluate potential internal messaging opportunities and determine the appropriate channel mix

Collaborate with HCM on internal education activities

  • Support production of Compliance Training videos as needed
  • Coordinate and facilitate educational events such as Quarterly Meetings and Lunch and Learns
  • Support JJR internal education campaigns (e.g., JJR 101/Magnify© 101) to drive measurable success in employee awareness, desire, knowledge, and ability

Support excellence in content and visuals for external-facing communications

  • Develop, review, and format various forms of JJR marketing content to promote quality and consistency (e.g., briefing decks, website content, social media posts)
  • Create professional, JJR-branded templates to support Client Experience deliverables

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or related field OR 5 years of experience directly supporting communication or education efforts

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Strong writing skills
  • Ability to quickly learn new web-based tools and other company software
  • Expertise in visual design principles
  • Team player; able to work well with others
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office products (knowledge of Adobe Suite, Camtasia, and SharePoint development a plus)
  • Experience in internal communication efforts
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to coordinate multiple activities
  • Strong work ethic


TOTAL COMPENSATION PACKAGE

Salary: In accordance with various state and federal pay transparency regulations, as well as best industry practices, our job descriptions include the salary range we reasonably expect to pay those joining our team, contingent upon little to no training being required. A final salary is subject to several factors, including but not limited to the following: years of experience, education, certification(s), training, specialized skills, responsibilities, etc.

The range of pay for this position is $79,000-$104,000.

Core Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Monthly $200 HSA Match, Complimentary $50k Basic Life and AD&D (eligible employees), STD, Complimentary LTD, AFLAC Coverage, etc.

PTO, Flexible Schedule, and Holidays: Employees receive a robust amount of PTO along with flexible/hybrid working schedules and additional support for new parents. JJR also observes a total of 11 paid federal holidays annually, including: New Year's Day, President's Day, 4th of July, Veteran's Day, Christmas, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Columbus Day.
