Position: 21st Century CCLC Project Teacher Positions, 1 Position at Mattawa Elementary;
The Kindergarten and 1st grade; focusing on literary and math.
This will position will run for the first session of the school year, which is September 18th - December 21st. Monday - Thursday (3:15pm - 5:15pm), Here is the calendar for reference 21st Century Calendar
Reports to: 21st Century Site Coordinator; Project Director
Job Assignment: Available to Begin Immediately, to run through 1st Session 2023; Sept 18th-December 21, 2024, Monday- Thursday, 3:15-5:15PM, pay at per diem for certificated staff;
Job Summary: Supervises and instructs students in educational and enrichment activities forcusing on early literacy and math as described in the 21st Century Community learning Centers Grant and as designed by site coordinator.
Major Responsibilities: This is a representative of major responsibilities however, the position is not limited to these listed:
Provides an appropriate educational program for students as assigned by the 21st Century Site Coordinator and Project Director Works with 21st Century staff to create activities that will increase student academic achievement in reading and math in cooperation with 21st Century Site Coordinator. Structures a classroom environment that is safe, supervised, and conducive to student learning. Establishes efficient classroom management procedures and maintains standards of student behavior as described in the school district policies and Washington State law. Reports and participates in center Advisory Committee as needed. Collaborates with parents and students to address behavior problems and attendance issues using strength's based approach. Participates in provided staff development opportunities, as well as any mandated trainings or meeting as assigned by 21st Century project Director Complies and completes needed documentation for review and evaluation of student attendance and academic achievement. Planning and delivering academic enrichment activities and ensure alignment with the Common Core Standards. Assess students on an ongoing basis and report on activities. Be involved in the YPQI process.
Qualifications
Valid Washington Teaching Certificate, K-8/Elementary Education endorsement required. Successful experience implementing English Language Learner instructions strategies such as G.L.A.D. / SIOP instructional strategies preferred; training helpful. Understanding of Whole Brain teaching strategies and successful incorporation into instructional delivery preferred. Understanding/Knowledge of 5D CEL Instructional Frameworks and the ability to incorporate dimensions in daily teaching practices. Knowledge of/training in PBIS, AVID, Safe & and Civil Schools Technology proficient or ability to gain proficiency to integrate technology into the instructional delivery. Strong background in early literacy helpful. Bilingual Spanish helpful.
