Job Description
Leads assigned technology projects from project initiation to implementation to achieve project objectives. Manages the triple constraint of Scope, Schedule and Cost by ensuring project configured Risk, Communication and Change Management processes are executed.


Leads effectively in either Waterfall, Iterative Waterfall or Agile project constructs.


Understands and executes on all PMO processes, including configuration of PDLC and SDLC deliverables based on communication requirements and risk mitigation requirements.


Manages assigned technology projects from Initiation through implementation, to closure and steady-state hand-off via either Waterfall, Iterative Waterfall, or Agile methodologies.


Manages the triple constraint of Scope, Schedule, and Cost by ensuring the proper level of Risk Management, Communications Management and Change management processes are executed upon.


Understands and executes on all PMO processes, including configuration of PDLC (Project Delivery Lifecycle) and SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle) deliverables based on best practice and risk mitigation requirements.


Typical assignment size for an Intermediate PM is a combination of the following factors:


  • 2 or more enhancements-based projects; or 1 or more defined scope projects
  • Low to medium risk Stakeholder Management
  • 2-5MM of Resource Effort
  • Low to medium risk SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle)


Key Role Objectives / Deliverables
  • Ability to facilitate discussions and decisions for prioritization and sequencing
  • Proficient at managing system enhancements, new releases or projects of moderate scope and complexity.
  • Moderate (and strengthening) ability to organize project data and documentation
  • Ability to manage multiple teams and projects with increasing degree of complexity and broad scope (e.g., multi-function within business line).
  • Moderate (and strengthening) ability to structure and facilitate meetings
  • Moderate knowledge and understanding of business and bank technology standards (e.g., infrastructure, architecture, processes, applications, platforms, services) and managing people and projects.
  • Scrum Master certification (CSM) is an asset
  • Domain knowledge, Commercial Banking (end to end Commercial Lending Process, Pre-Sales, Origination, through Servicing), an asset
  • Developing skills to think strategically while executing tactically
  • Valid PMP designation from the Project Management Institute (PMI) is an asset
  • Project Audits
  • Exposure too or experience with SDLC approaches: Waterfall, Iterative Waterfall, Agile
  • Willingness, motivation, and ability to work independently (and autonomously) in the management of projects, teams, and operational discipline
  • Ability to develop detailed Project and Implementation plans, and analyze scheduling options and impacts

  • Analysis of lessons learned and information sharing with peers
  • Moderate (and strengthening) communication skills (written & verbal) to diverse stakeholder groups (technical, management, business partners)
  • Ability to identify and manage Risks, Issues, Actions, Decisions and Changes, and drive the team in related Analysis, Impact Assessment and Remediation or Resolution plans
  • Planning and negotiating across technology teams and stakeholders
  • Pre-Inception activities
  • Exposure too or experience with Application / Software Development projects and/or Infrastructure projects
  • Participation in EPMO Best Practice development
  • Ability to understand key Project Controls and Control Breaches and monitor and report on same throughout initiative (for Triple Constraint and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators))
