- Research finishes and products and present to the executive team.
- Work directly with in house development team, architect, and construction company to ensure that plans and specifications will result in the most attractive and cost-effective interior design.
- Coordinate interior design specifications with construction documents
- Ensure that Architects drawings match the scope and intent of the outcome.
- Assist with final inspections and completion of the punch list as requested by project manager.
- Maintain liaison with the project staff and owner to discuss modifications and satisfactory solutions to project problems; process pertinent change orders and make recommendations to project manager.
- Design, purchase and oversee installation of all Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment (FF&E) including creative theme areas.
- Provide official specification document of all interior hard surfaces, colors and finishes, and schedules to be used by subcontractors and suppliers
- Manage the budget and ordering of all furnishings and décor.
- Manage the storage and delivery of all furnishings with the most cost-effective plan; schedule and manage for “on-time” installations.
- Interpret plans and specifications, working with project managers and development team.
- Review projects at end of warranty period for evaluation of furnishings performance.
- Responsible for all design aspects: flooring plan, ceiling designs, wall details, paint, lighting, interior signage, and finish schedules.
- This position is based at our Home Office in Salem, Oregon and will require periodic travel to our communities in Washington, Oregon and Colorado.
- Negotiate and manage vendor accounts to achieve maximum value in terms of product quality and pricing.
- Bachelor’s Degree Interior Design
- Proficiency with Microsoft suite.
- Five plus years of experience in commercial interior design. Must have proven experience in all phases of commercial interior design management including: estimating through project completion, scheduling, documentation, owner/architect relations, quality and cost controlling, and problem solving.
- Special understanding of the dynamics of Senior Living and Assisted Living
- Preference towards 1-5+ yrs. CAD experience
- Ability to problem solve and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of contracts, plans, and specifications as well as construction methods, materials, and regulations.
