Bonaventure is seeking an Interior Designer to join our Development Team. Bonaventure is a premier Senior Living company based in the Northwest, committed to providing our residents with an exceptional senior lifestyle. This position is based in Salem, OR.

The ideal candidate for this position is an experienced designer and leader who is highly creative, energetic, and action minded. Experience in assisting and running FF & E design for complex, multi-faceted projects is a plus. They will be working with our in house architectural and development team to coordinate and supervise the interior design process from conception to final furnishing of a new senior living community. Emphasis will be on developing an attractive and comfortable setting with specific theme areas, as well as budgeting, ordering, scheduling, tracking, and installation.

What does an Interior Designer do for Bonaventure?


  • Research finishes and products and present to the executive team.
  • Work directly with in house development team, architect, and construction company to ensure that plans and specifications will result in the most attractive and cost-effective interior design.
  • Coordinate interior design specifications with construction documents
  • Ensure that Architects drawings match the scope and intent of the outcome.
  • Assist with final inspections and completion of the punch list as requested by project manager.
  • Maintain liaison with the project staff and owner to discuss modifications and satisfactory solutions to project problems; process pertinent change orders and make recommendations to project manager.
  • Design, purchase and oversee installation of all Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment (FF&E) including creative theme areas.
  • Provide official specification document of all interior hard surfaces, colors and finishes, and schedules to be used by subcontractors and suppliers
  • Manage the budget and ordering of all furnishings and décor.
  • Manage the storage and delivery of all furnishings with the most cost-effective plan; schedule and manage for “on-time” installations.
  • Interpret plans and specifications, working with project managers and development team.
  • Review projects at end of warranty period for evaluation of furnishings performance.
  • Responsible for all design aspects: flooring plan, ceiling designs, wall details, paint, lighting, interior signage, and finish schedules.
  • This position is based at our Home Office in Salem, Oregon and will require periodic travel to our communities in Washington, Oregon and Colorado.
  • Negotiate and manage vendor accounts to achieve maximum value in terms of product quality and pricing.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s Degree Interior Design
  • Proficiency with Microsoft suite.
  • Five plus years of experience in commercial interior design. Must have proven experience in all phases of commercial interior design management including: estimating through project completion, scheduling, documentation, owner/architect relations, quality and cost controlling, and problem solving.
  • Special understanding of the dynamics of Senior Living and Assisted Living
  • Preference towards 1-5+ yrs. CAD experience
  • Ability to problem solve and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of contracts, plans, and specifications as well as construction methods, materials, and regulations.
