WHO WE ARE
Studio Bloom is a boutique recruiting firm for the Interior Design industry. We are representing several high end residential design firms throughout the Bay Area including San Francisco, West Berkeley, Portola Valley, Mountain View and more.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We are hiring at all levels: Junior Designers, Intermediate Designers, Associate Designers, Senior Designers and Design Studio Managers.
The firms we represent focus on high end residential including large scale remodels, new construction, and custom furniture/furnishings. All clients that we support have a high commitment to client service, honesty, clarity and excellence in design.
Please note these are not contract and/or Independent Contractor positions, these are full-time employee classifications.
ABOUT YOU
- You enjoy working with small, collaborative teams
- You are highly creative, organized, innovative, personable, intelligent, logical, articulate, hard working and self-motivated.
- You have a portfolio of work that reflects your work, skillset, and design aesthetic
- You have a license and valid transportation as travel in and around the Bay Area is required for showroom visits, client meetings, site visits, etc.
- You are an experienced Interior Designer based in or around the San Francisco area and/or planning to relocate.
- You are eager to grow within our clients' firms.
- You have minimum of two years of post-college, hands on experience with a residential design firm in the US (higher minimums for Intermediate to Senior level roles).
- You are comfortable balancing multiple project commitments and deadlines, and are comfortable working both independently and within a small team.
- You are comfortable with on-site work (none of these roles are completely remote, very few are hybrid)
WHAT YOU'LL DO
The following examples of anticipated duties are representative only and not exhaustive of the
tasks performed under this job classification. Exceptional degrees of discretion and judgment
are expected and required in carrying out these duties:
- Production of interior architectural construction documents, elevations and furniture plans using AutoCAD
- Collaborate on projects from design concept through complete installation
- Research new products and materials
- Attend client meetings and manage client communications in a timely, informative manner
- Maintain and keep current, organized records for all design projects and update the Design Principal, Senior Designer and other project consultants as required
- Create and maintain project budgets
- Develop and maintain excellent relationships with clients, contractors, vendors and external subcontractors
- Develop presentation materials and proposals
- Coordinate and assist in project installations
- Develop space planning and design concepts for projects in collaboration with Principal and Senior Designer
- Assist in the sourcing and specification of furnishings, lighting, textiles, and accessories
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS YOU POSESS
- Proficient in AutoCAD preferred; Revit or other CAD software a plus
- Creative experience in development of design concepts, finishes and furniture; knowledge of manufacturers and sources for residential applications
- Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator and SketchUp are preferred
- Impeccable communication skills, both verbal and written
- Extremely detail-oriented, accurate and consistent
- Ability to proactively create and nurture professional relationships and deliver outstanding service to clients and vendors that exceed expectations
- Degree from an accredited Interior Design or Architecture program
- Strong design portfolio
- Strong creative problem-solving abilities, organizational and time management skills
- High level of integrity and adherence to the firm’s values, beliefs, and principles of innovation and excellence in design
- Ability to work on both Mac and iOS and PC where required (depending on role)
- Strong ability to conceptualize unique design concepts and solutions and effectively communicate design intent through sketches, drawings, detail and specifications
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a professional Interior Designer or Interior Architect, including Project Management work
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Ability to work within a team and proactively create harmonious and professional relationships
- Driver’s License and reliable transportation
SALARY, BENEFITS & SCHEDULE
- Full time, in-office (possible WFH Friday benefit depending on the role)
- Comprehensive benefits packages including Medical, PTO, Holidays, etc.
- Salary to commensurate with experience($75,000 - $130,000, depending on the role)
