Instructional Assistant - Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry & Chemical Biology is seeking several instructional assistants for undergraduate chemistry lab courses for the Fall Semester of 2023. The Instructional Lab Assistants will work under supervision of faculty in charge of the courses duties.
Possible Duties include:

• Hold office hours for students with questions related to the course
• Maintain student grade records
• Assist with lab drawer check in /check out
• Grade student reports, lab practical, and other course assignments and assessments.
• May assist with troubleshooting laboratory experiments.
• Conduct zoom meetings for remote scheduled courses or online office hours
• Other duties assigned by the course instructor
• Enforce lab safety rules prescribed by the course.
• Supervise student laboratory work and provide guidance for lab procedure
• Help set up, operate, and maintain a variety of standard laboratory instrumentation as required for laboratory exercises.
• Attend mandatory training and preparatory meetings
• Facilitate student class or lab discussion and problem solving
• Assist course instructor to proctor exams
