Information Technology Business Analyst

We are seeking an IT business analyst on behalf of a client of ours that is starting a Fintech App.

The Business Analyst will conduct research on emerging technologies, competitor offerings, assist with innovation projects and help design and create innovative technical solutions. They will be a collaborative partner delivering innovative ideas, solutions, and services to meet ACCC objectives.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Creates, develops, provides, or coordinates system training, materials, and other educational tools.
• Acts as liaison between the software engineering team and IT Manager
• Organize workflows and monitor ticket status and assignment in Jira.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Perform data analysis and provide insights to drive data-driven decision-making, identify trends, and uncover opportunities for process improvement.
• Support system implementations through the project lifecycle by testing, analyzing, and documenting end results.
• Work closely with software engineers and development teams to ensure accurate and effective implementation of functional requirements.
• Assist in the preparation of progress and status reports on various projects for management.
• Create and modify reports utilizing SQL Server Reporting Services.
• Communicates effectively, gathering requirements from key business stakeholders and translating them to actionable engineering requirements.
• Communicate application upgrades to key stakeholders and assist in training front-end users on system changes or upgrades.
• Act as a liaison between the business and IT departments to help classify and resolve issues.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to elicit, document, and prioritize business requirements, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Develop and execute system testing plans to ensure that applications and upgrades function properly.
• Use SQL queries to extract data from company databases for reporting, and compliance purposes, and to analyze trends within the organization.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Knowledge of relational databases and experience with SQL.
• Experience with agile development methodologies and familiarity with tools such as JIRA or Confluence.
• Knowledge of financial systems, fintech platforms, and industry regulations is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
• Proficiency in requirements gathering and documentation, including user stories, use cases, and process flow diagrams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Proven experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in the fintech or financial services industry.
