Summary:
Summary
The Information Security Analyst protects Greenbrier’s information assets by proactively identifying and mitigating potential threats. The primary responsibility is to search for threats, analyze security incidents, and implement effective countermeasures to enhance the overall security posture.

Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices.
  • Investigates and analyzes security incidents, determines the root cause and impact, and provides recommendations for remediation.
  • Participates in incident response activities, including containment, eradication, and recovery, to minimize the impact of security incidents.
  • Utilizes security tools, technologies, and methodologies to collect and analyze security event data, identify patterns, and uncover hidden threats.
  • Assists in the development and execution of security awareness training programs to educate employees on best practices in information security.
  • Searches for and identifies potential security threats and vulnerabilities within the organization's information systems, networks, and applications.
  • Stays informed of the latest threat landscape, emerging vulnerabilities, and attack techniques to continually improve threat search processes.
  • Develops and maintains detailed documentation of threat search procedures, findings, and recommended remediation actions.
Qualifications
The following generally describes requirements to successfully perform the assigned duties.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Proficient knowledge of security principles, practices, and technologies, including network security, host security, threat intelligence, and vulnerability management.
  • Proficient in security tools and technologies, such as SIEM platforms, intrusion detection systems (IDS/IPS), endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions, and threat intelligence platforms.
  • Knowledge of current and emerging security threats, attack vectors, and techniques used by threat actors.
  • Possess analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify patterns and trends in security event data.
  • The ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, to effectively convey complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of scripting and programming languages commonly used in cybersecurity, such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
  • 5 years’ experience in Information Technology that includes at least two years in an Information Security role with a focus on threat search and analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Industry certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH).
  • Bachelor’s degree in any field.
