Job Description
Role Summary:
The Information Architect will be responsible for developing & leading the Data & Information architecture practice, a critical domain within Enterprise Architecture for TruStage. This role will research industry trends along with collaborating with business and IT leaders to define vision and long-term information strategy. The incumbent will also define standards, best practices and patterns for data governance, integrations, and consumption. They will analyze feedback and update technology solutions according to the latest trends and principles. This position is also responsible for providing people leadership to the Data Architecture staff.
Job Purpose:
The Information Architect will be responsible for developing the Data & Information architecture practice for the organization. They will research & design the information architecture, prepare integration & consumption patterns, and lead the building of prototypes working closely with SMEs. They will also analyze feedback and update technology solutions according to the latest trends and principles. This position is also responsible for providing people leadership to the Data Architecture staff.

Practice Leadership
Advance the Practice
  • Define standards and best practices within the information and data architecture competencies
  • Establish and support interaction and knowledge sharing processes among team members in different agile teams.
  • Creates a culture that drives innovation, high quality, and outcome-based value delivery.
  • Set and continuously evolve vision for information architecture practice in line with industry and organization standards.
  • Develop and train architecture skills within staff to increase productivity.
  • Work with key business/technology partners, both internal and external, to continuously drive stronger relationships and potential future partnership opportunities.
Personnel Management and Development
  • Make proposals on the architecture practice’s composition and headcount.
  • Create an atmosphere of confidence and trust in the team and motivate to fulfill architecture practice’s tasks.
  • Resolve organizational issues within the practice.
  • Agree upon personal development goals and perform frequent touchbases with architecture practice employees in regards to their professional development.
  • Create an environment for personal growth and continuous learning.
Participating in Product Implementation
  • Assist Product Owners in identifying the best suited competency member for the required work in agile teams.
  • Participate in solving complex problems that require the highest competency level as an expert or organizer of the necessary consultations with the other experts.
Architecture Practice
  • Partner with legal, risk and compliance teams to ensure we are appropriately securing and using our data
  • Participate in initiative preparation and planning to determine the necessary architectural improvements according to the architecture roadmap and current priorities in the Product backlog.
  • Support policies and procedures enforced by the data governance committee to ensure best practices of data architecture including audit, balance, controls, etc.
  • Ensure that solutions developed meet nonfunctional requirements such as security, resiliency, etc.
  • Design the movement of data throughout the organization to ensure an efficient and trustworthy enterprise data platform.
  • Ensures the architecture conforms to the agreed / defined architectural standards and target architecture.
  • Manage interdependencies with architectural solutions of other units
  • Recommend and review data management standards and best practices
  • Design architectural standards together with data, technical & solution architects
  • Understand how data is, or will be, used and implication on people, process, products, and technology.
  • Define critical non-functional requirements for the solution.
  • Design target state information architecture, create & maintain technical roadmap
  • Helping business counterparts in defining solutions to business problems
  • Map data entities that can define how information should flow and be consumed by various consumers.
  • Trusted advisor to Delivery Managers and Product Owners on defining how to develop the solution, prioritize technical debt, or enablers.
  • Decide whether to pilot new technology solutions and make proposals to roll out successful solutions.
Job Requirements:
(List of general education, background and experience, knowledge, skills and abilities typically required to effectively perform the responsibilities of the job. Also include any required licenses and/or designations.)
  • Proven skills in coaching team members in the areas of performance standards and work methods.
  • Experience with modern data consumption patterns and technologies
  • Experience with enterprise data management technologies, including database platforms, ETL tools, and SQL
  • Able to develop a staffing plan that meets both work demand and financial constraints.
  • Ability to create an atmosphere of trust and comfortable/efficient work environment.
  • 5+ years of experience and recognized as an expert in data and information architecture.
  • Innovation and strategic thinking to be able to continuously improve and evolve competency.
  • Experience in developing methods and standards and promoting work standards among other employees of the company.
  • Understanding of information systems and data life-cycle management best practices and methodologies.
  • Proven ability to resolve conflicts in Agile team before they escalate (mediation skills).
  • 5+ years of experience managing technical staff, interviewing, hiring and assessing personnel.
  • Demonstrated consulting skills, with change management concepts and strategies, including communication, culture change and performance measurement system design
  • Knowledge of information risk architecture and technology solutions.

Compensation may vary based on the job level, your geographic work location, position incentive plan and exemption status.

Base Salary Range:
$146,000.00 - $219,000.00
