POSITION SUMMARY:
The Informatics Nurse works under the supervision of the Director Clinical Informatics. The Informatics Nurse will work closely with the health system and Information Services to plan and implement new functionality for clinical systems. The Informatics Nurse will describe, collect and analyze requests and optimization issues and needs for the healthcare system. This is an on-site position headquartered out of Ridgewood/Paramus NJ.
The Informatics Nurse-
Serves as an advocate for clinical system implementation and optimization.
Identifies, reports, records and helps develop mitigation strategies for key technology issues for the health system.
Assists with the ongoing design and implementation of software to enable the process of care in the health system and to effectively monitor patient care outcomes.
Partners with clinicians to reduce variation of clinical processes through data analysis and/or workflow review.
Partners with system Leaders, clinicians, and project teams to identify common workflows in the health system, understand current state processes and assist in the development of future state workflows.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Nursing.
- NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License.
- Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office, Teams, and Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Minimum of three years of experience in an acute care setting.
Preferred:
- Meditech experience.
- Project management and/or involvement in various organizations and committees.
- ANCC certification in Nursing Informatics.
- Previous informatics experience.
- Experience working in a variety of departments in an acute care setting.
- EMR design, build and/or implementation.
SPECIAL SKILLS:
* Achieves board certification following completion of practice hours and continuing education hours requirements. * Experience in Meditech, Athena, Home Care Home Base; prior experience with design, build and implementation is considered an asset.
