Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm

Job Summary: The Information Systems Business Analyst acts as a liaison between functional and technical staff in support of specialized college or department information systems. Serves as a contact for reporting and data retrieval requests.

Additional Department Summary: The Housing and Residential Communities (HRC) Info Systems Business Analyst plans, designs, and develops Business Intelligence (BI) solutions that enhance analytics and reporting capabilities and improve overall business operation for Housing and Residential Communities. Develops, implements, and troubleshoots solutions. Migrates existing reports from other reporting technologies utilizing emerging tools and technology such as Microsoft Power Platform. Serves as a liaison with Office of Information Technology (OIT) for overall troubleshooting needs. Promotes best practices in data modeling and source-to-target mapping. Develops reporting and dashboard solutions that yield relevant business information in a user-friendly format by collecting, analyzing and leveraging data. Alters internal processes or brings new technology to bear in important business activities. Designs and builds business intelligence reports with the objective to identify and track critical metrics that drive business processes. Provides leadership and direction in the development of processes, procedures, and systems that contribute to successful business operations in a comprehensive housing program that has 8,500+ bed-spaces. Monitors the quality and quantity of the business functions and service delivery efforts. Reviews, analyzes, and addresses problems that can have financial and service impact on HRC business operations. Completes required training and promoting a safe, hospitable, and respectful workplace.

Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience; OR Master's degree and some experience. Experience with using Microsoft Power Platform. Experience or knowledge in using SQL and other report writing tools. Experience developing and maintaining of software applications, computer science, computer engineering, relational database management systems, or computer programming.

Skills and Knowledge: Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with users of varying degrees of technical ability and understanding. Effective time management skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Advanced knowledge with Microsoft applications. Strong knowledge of SharePoint, O365, and web technologies. Understanding system testing and production environments. Working knowledge of processes and interfaces. Knowledge of DocuSign. Ability to continuously learning new technologies and skills. Ability to identify needed data and information. Ability to interpret, communicate, and utilize university policies and procedures in analysis/reporting.

Preferred Qualifications: Degree or minor in Management Information Systems or related computer/technology studies. Microsoft Power Certifications or demonstrated knowledge. One (1) year of experience in using SQL and other report writing tools. Experience in Office 365 applications, including but not limited to Power Platform and Teams.
Working knowledge of DocuSign, digital signature program.

Interested in future technologies and software, including areas of AI. Strong resourcefulness; a self-starter with analytical skills, attention to detail, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
