Job Description

Livingston in seeking a proactive and dynamic Import Analyst to work directly with our client in Troy, MI. You will be the liaison and lead between Livingston teams and our client, ensuring quality standards are met and compliant. In addition, facilitate release and entry summary completion; accountable for a range of client and customs process management and compliance activities including release support, tariff database management, and client instructions. Assist in ensuring that all entries are classified and billed accurately, and within LII service standards to ensure clients' complete satisfaction. This full time position will report to the Livingston Manager, but will be dedicated to our clients in-house operations. Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm shift.



A DAY IN THE LIFE

  • Resolve any delayed shipments that have insufficient documentation held at CBP, PGA issues etc.
  • Create and proactively maintain the client tariff database, ensuring all associated system maintenance files/information, associated vendors and keywords are accurate and current. Update information as necessary.
  • Prioritize and complete work according to client's needs, demands, customs requirements and Livingston standards for release conditions and ensure compliance.
  • Monitor ISF and AES programs
  • Identify opportunities to improve service delivery, operational productivity and relationships.
  • Work along side the client team executing day-to-day activities for U.S. customs operations. Build and maintain excellent, direct working relationship with the client.
  • Review entries for Post Entry changes, request changes and monitor resolution.
  • Verify documentation for release conditions, compliance and rating compliance (e.g., free trade certificates).
  • Escalate items for additional resolutions, or return entries to release team members and recommend corrective actions.
  • Work directly with Customs and PGA's as necessary.

  • Ability to make decisions and recommendations within authorized limitations.
  • General knowledge of Post Entry requirements
  • Attention to detail; organization, completeness and accuracy.
  • Client Service oriented -- interpersonal skills with internal/external clients and coworkers.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Understanding of all aspects of US Customs rules and regulations. Keen understanding of import requirements, knowledge of broker import processes, as well as ISF, and AES.
  • Good analytical skills with problem-solving ability.
