Job Description
Immortals - Social Media Intern
We are looking for a capable, social media aficionado to join our team as an intern for the LCS Summer Split. As Immortals’ Social Media Intern, you’re one of the voices of our organization and our connection to our community. You and the social team members will be relied upon for the day-to-day content production as well as the operation of Immortals social channels. Additionally, you will be used as a priority resource for audience insights and content ideas for our partnerships and other community engagement opportunities. You must have excellent communication skills both from an external copywriting standpoint and for interfacing with internal teams (the social, partnerships, and competitive teams). As the Social Media Intern you must be able to work at lightning speed and be a deeply passionate fan of professional League of Legends with familiarity with the nuances of the LCS. Our ideal candidate would be constantly aware and up to date on what is going on in the esports ecosystem and love the drama / minutia while ideating ways to creatively represent Immortals within that landscape. Finally, as the Social Media Intern you should have a deep understanding of all major social channels and be able to build out successful social strategies for our team as well as for partners that Immortals represents.
Responsibilities and Requirements:
Content Creation & Management
  • Keep up to date on all team, league, and fanbase conversations around Teams, League, Game, and Gaming culture.
  • Assist in development and ongoing management of a social content calendar accounting for all anticipated social content and sponsor deliverables (at least one month ahead of today’s date).
  • Work closely with the content team to develop plans to support tentpole moments and partnership deliverables.
  • Be a content creator to the extent of your abilities; may entail light photo/video editing on a phone or computer and/or being a shooter on a phone or hand-held camera.
  • Be an ally to design team peers by ensuring they have all information and assets needed to produce content - may require interfacing with other members of other departments.
  • Work with our social team to convey brand voice in all community engagement through creating, sending or overseeing all push messages and replies from team social channels. You will wear many hats, often acting as social strategist, community manager and copywriter.
Marketing Strategy
  • Be an expert on social platform capabilities, best practices, and new developments - work with the Social Media Manager to develop how teams will use social channels.
  • Be a constant source for proactive marketing ideas for Immortals and our partners (content, campaign, platforms, etc).
  • Have a clear understanding of our brand voice and be able to collaborate with any necessary updates to how we speak with the community based on audience response, team performance etc.
  • Optimize strategy based on quantitative and qualitative data signals, have an understanding of priority metrics and KPIs for all campaigns (paid and organic).
Requirements
  • Acute attention to detail with copy/grammar and design
  • Experience utilizing Adobe Creative Suite to cut and edit highlight clips for social/digital
  • Deep knowledge of the esports landscape and a passion for League of Legends.
  • Passion and experience for engaging and building an authentic community
  • Ability to work in a team, workshopping ideas, executing social plans, and delegating tasks appropriately
  • Experience in Excel (or Google Sheets) to represent and learn from social media data and the ability to use those metrics in the creation of social strategy (Paid & Organic) for Immortals and our partners
  • Ability to work out of our Los Angeles office at least once a week and attend LCS matches in Santa Monica on weekdays
