We are currently looking for a:

Idlewild Seasonal Weekend Prep Cook $20/hr
Roles & Responsibilities:

What You’ll Do:
  • Follow a ‘clean as you go’ mantra to ensure that the kitchen area is always clean, orderly and re-stocked
  • Quickly resolve complaints about food preparation or quality
  • Run various pieces of kitchen equipment, time the steps in each dish and know the cooking requirements of each dish
  • Consistently prepare ingredients to spec
  • Work each shift with a safety mindset. Be proactive in regards to front of the house and back of the house safety (food safety, potential hazards for employees or Guests) 100% of the time
  • Promptly and efficiently prepare menu items for the park and fulfill orders throughout the day according to stand requests
  • Be knowledgeable about menu items, menus-changes and food preparation and allergy procedures
  • Ensure proper product rotation, sanitation procedures, and recipes are strictly adhered to
  • Control waste and to work to high efficiency with food ingredients
Who You Are:
  • You are a genuine and vibrant team player who is solution-focused and proactively resourceful
  • You are able to stand (for up to five hours at a time); walk long distances within the park; bend at the waist and knees and have repeated manual dexterity; regularly reach above shoulder level
  • You are able to safely and repetitively lift 40 lbs (items weighted similar to a bag of potatoes)
  • You have experience in the service / hospitality industry. Previous back of house experience required. We will consider the right person, with the right attitude who can back-up their abilities through previous work.
  • You are available weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) through October 29, 2023
  • You are easily coachable and see feedback as an opportunity to keep improving your skills and abilities
  • You pride yourself on your ability to learn new skills, your ability to work efficiently and effectively, your reliability and your ability to ‘keep your cool’ even during the busiest shifts
  • You are able to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks without skipping a beat
