Icd-10 Subject Matter Expert (Hybrid)

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform initial review of codes to determine scope of changes
• Conduct meetings with personnel, stakeholders, and process owners
• Prepare listings of codes changes to reference administration staff and Medicaid program staff for review and analysis
• Initiate annual and quarterly updates from CMS of all ICD-10, CPT/HCPCS coding changes

Skills & Qualifications:

• Medical coding in payer environment
• 5 years of experience with:
• IT developers/programmers in a payor environment
• 15 years of experience in healthcare insurance; medical review, program integrity, or appeals
• Strong knowledge of ICD/CPT/HCPCS translation and coding methodologies
• Extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical terminology

Education/Certifications:

• Current nursing license in South Carolina
• ICD-10 Proficiency demonstrated by exam
• Currently credentialed as Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or as Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)

Location: Hybrid in Columbia, SC

The salary range for this position is $140,000 - $180,000. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, and qualifications.
