The Refrigeration Mechanic Apprentice at our Waterton facility located in Littleton, CO will:
  • Willing to be part of a great team and willing to learn and work towards commercial industrial HVAC
  • Be a motivated, driven individual with great attitude
Journeyman level
  • Have a mechanical aptitude
  • Inspects/Work on refrigeration machinery, auxiliary equipment, mechanical, electrical and pneumatic controls, and piping including such items as: compressors, pumps, motors, condensers, etc. Makes visual check of equipment for leaks, correct valve action and response to mechanical, electrical and pneumatic controls. Re-adjusts controls and thermostats as necessary
  • Utilize computerized maintenance management system track service requests and preventive maintenance tasks
  • Great customer service
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on HVAC/Refrigeration equipment and associated infrastructure equipment.
  • Performs emergency repairs on components of refrigeration and air-conditioning systems
  • Operates HVAC, air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment. Assists in starting the system initially or after a complete shut down involving a number of system components. Frequently observes the components of the system in operation to assure proper functioning. Performs preventive maintenance, lubrication and standardized adjustments according to demands made on the system.
  • Perform repair and regular maintenance on HVAC/Refrigeration equipment and associated infrastructure equipment.
  • Maintains proper chemical treatment of open and closed loop piping systems, and maintain and periodically clean cooling towers, and works with level controllers and sensors on cooling towers and rundown tanks. Technician will also need to communicate with equipment and parts suppliers to research replacement parts or repair information on an as-needed basis.
  • Be part of 3-year apprenticeship program
Basic Qualifications:
  • Basic knowledge in the following areas:
  • Mechanical Aptitude
  • Computer experience
  • Valid Drivers license
Facilities Maintenance
Basic Hand Tool usage
  • Willing to attend required training courses
  • Required to obtain/maintain a security clearance as a condition of employment. U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Willing to complete 3 year apprenticeship program
  • Willing/able to work overtime when required
Desired Skills:
  • Customer Service
  • Prior Facilities Maintenance experience
  • HVAC Experience
  • CFC Refrigerant Certification
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
The base range for this position in Colorado is $21.47 - $36.32.
